Jason, I happen to be reading your book, Darkness Walks, at the same time as , Paracelsus four treatises. I am in, Tractatus III, of, A book of Nymphs, Sylphs, Pygmies, etc. Where I came across mention of the monks. It tells of their origin and behavior. Thought you would be interested in reading it. It is a hard book to come by, but has been reprinted in paperback John's Hopkins university.
